Interview with the Evening Telegraph

Along with council leader, Councillor John Alexander, I took part in a video interview with the Evening Telegraph towards the end of last week.
We discussed a number of local issues during these challenging times including the massive financial challenge facing Dundee City Council – and indeed other local authorities – as a result of the COVID-19 health emergency, a situation I have said must be met by sufficient financial support from government.
That part of the interview can be seen at

Evening Telegraph Hero Awards 2012

Last night, I was one of the guests of Royal Mail Group at the Evening Telegraph Hero Awards 2012.
It was a superb night at which many local people are recognised for all they have done for our local community.   The Tele deserves much congratulation for running this annual event and it was great to see those awarded being recognised.   It was particularly poignant when the award to the late Liam Tasker and Theo was announced.
There was also excellent entertainment, including the hugely talented Gleadhraich and the  Youth Music Theatre Scotland.
We are lucky to have a strong local press in Dundee and across Tayside that is embedded in the local community.  It was a super night for Dundee and many thanks to @Evening_Tele for making it all possible.
