Hope you can join us for our April Blether on Zoom

Tuesday 27th April – 7pm to 9pm

This month’s theme for those who want a theme is is Rebels, Bandits, and Outlaws – but feel free to share any story, poem or song you would like to share, we’re very informal and not at all strict.  Limit 10 minutes maximum please.

Stories throughout the ages are told about those who do not play by the rules. I’m certain we have all had a hero with a rebellious streak. The outlaw is necessary for change and bringing a bit of colour to our lives. Stories would be awful dull without them.

Join us for stories this month of the mayhem of mavericks, the antics of outcasts, the swindles of swindlers. Bring a story and share a cuppa over the internet, or just come to listen and have a blether.

Tuesday 30th March – 7pm to 9pm

This month’s theme is Rivers.

And, it’s our birthday!

Rivers, the flowing life giving water of the land. Rich with stories and activity.   We are drawn to rivers for the wonders that lay along their banks, for the beauty they hold, and for the history written on their waters.

This month we are exploring rivers through story and you are welcome to come along.   Bring a story and share a cuppa over the internet, or just come to listen and have a blether.

Also, it’s our 14th birthday! Can you believe it!   We have been together continuously as a storytelling club since 2007, and even through a world crisis we have managed to keep going.  Maybe you want to bring a piece of cake and a candle to this month’s storytelling club and help us celebrate?

From Sheila Kinninmonth, Blether Tay-Gither’s secretary :

Hope you can join us for our February Blether on Zoom
Tuesday 23rd February – 7pm to 9pm
Our theme this month is Sea Shanties and Sea Stories
Last month one of our attendees offered to sing a sea shanty this month so we thought we’d embrace that and make it our theme.
The sea shanty was the song of the working people, the fishing people hard at work on the water, and the sea has long been a source and inspiration for stories.
So see what sea shanty or story you can dredge up and bring along to our club this month. Or join in for this February evening just to listen and have a blether.

Blether Tay-Gither – Storytelling in Dundee

From Blether Tay-Gither, Dundee’s story telling club :

We hope you can join us for our December blether tonight on Zoom – 7pm to 9pm :

The theme is ghosts.

It’s that time of year when it’s a bit colder outside and we are huddled up in the warmth. More huddled up that usual this year with our enforced prolonged hibernation. Some festive events are still happening and we at least have the chance to meet in a cyber way to share stories. These long dark nights evoke the haunted and eerie things that dwell in the shadows. Even a very well-known Christmas tale tells of these creatures that may come unbidden to reveal the troubled ways of our lives. We are talking about ghosts.

Tonight’s Zoom event is an opportunity to share and listen to stories around the theme of ghost stories. There is plenty of them out there so have a look and see what you can find and bring one to share – but if you would just prefer to listen that is ok too!
